Our Room

In our room we had a bench at the far end set up with our food. The food allowed the audience to interact with us and become part of the canteen and our world. We also had the windows in view which allowed the audience to look out and see the youth of our country training. The set was very simple with four tables, each with a table cloth and six seats around it. We also made posters of missing people and promoting the party which we put on one wall so that the audience could look at them and understand our world better.

Furthermore we had dark lighting to make it have a miserable atmosphere and we had the three statements, 'War is peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength' playing on a loop in the background so that the audience felt as though they had to believe in these phrases.

We also had a video playing in the background with the days announcements which were also on a loop so the audience could understand what the party wanted to promote to the public (this video was played on mute).

We were going to have a live feed but we were unsuccessful to set it up in time. If we did have this the audience would know they were being watched and it may have been useful when making scenes.

Finally our costumes were very bland and boring to show the audience the world we lived in was very dull and we had a shelving unit with food and chocolate on to make it look more like a canteen and it also helped us use more of the space having it at the other end of the room.
